Tip: Eat on Mondays – The day won’t suck as much
Continuing our Breakfast Ideas series, we’re now going to focus on recipes that involve one egg, one sausage and one slice of toast. (NOTE: Shock and horror to see sausages being fried on a health blog? Don’t be ridiculous and read this post) The rules remain the same, condiments optional but keep changing things slightly to create a new breakfast every day. Like we did with the egg and ham combinations, we’ll look at posting two recipes every Monday… barring this one which went up on Tuesday. Both of today’s recipes require mustard (which ever kind you prefer) and one of them calls for an onion. Under 5 steps all the way…

Fried Egg and Sausage

Doesn’t need an introduction. It’s a classic…

  • Egg – 1
  • Sausage – 1
  • Toast – 1
  • Spread if you want one – butter or cheese spread, don’t think jam’ll work.
Under 5 steps… as promised
  1. Fry the egg and sausage
  2. Butter the toast
  3. Egg on toast and sausage on the side
  4. Mustard on the sausage, salt and pepper on the egg
Tip: Hot and Sweet kind of chilli ketchup works well.
Classic Scrambled Egg and Sausage
No it isn’t at all as difficult as it probably looks like it is. Best part of breakfasts like this one is you pretty much bung everything in together and chill while it cooks.

  • Egg – 1
  • Toast – 1
  • Sausage – 1 chopped
  • Onion – 1 small chopped
  • Spread if you want one – butter or cheese spread, don’t think jam’ll work.
And like I said…

  1. Whip the egg in a bowl – longer you do, fluffier it is.
  2. Fry the onions for about 1 minute
  3. Add the chopped sausage
  4. When the sausage is done, add the egg
  5. Personally, I work the scrambled eggs in circles.
  6. Butter the toast.
  7. Serve…
The sausage will cook faster the smaller the pieces. So cut them length-wise twice and then chop them up. They will end up being slightly bigger than the onions but will cook in a couple of minutes. The egg takes the least time so added late as well. Should take 6 minutes to cook this one…
Two new recipes next week…
